Council Accomplishments
During his time on Council, Tony has brought forward initiatives that address important issues and help build a stronger Niagara Falls.
Improving Property Standards
Amended the grass-cutting bylaw to include all weeds in the definition, allowing for better enforcement and improving property standards throughout the city.
Addressing Potholes
Brought forward a bylaw to purchase a two-ton hot asphalt mixer to improve pothole repairs. Potholes were previously repaired with cold-patch asphalt, which frequently failed.
Visitor Parking
Created a new bylaw to ensure all visitor parking lots are registered, licensed and meet parking property standards.
Municipal Accommodation Tax
Introduced changes to the Municipal Accommodation Tax bylaw, changing the previous $2 amount to a percentage-based approach. - The revenue provides another source of funding for the city and is intended to reduce reliance on the municipal tax levy.
